Miss Teen America is looking for a well-rounded, "girl next door."  Our national pageant will be a fun-filled time for all participants. All Contestants will compete in the following areas:

Interview: 20%
Ability to communicate effectively in interview. Delegate will have the opportunity to express herself on current issues and attitudes that affect her and her community. The judges will be looking for a young woman with a strong sense of reasoning, who can articulate her opinions effectively. You will begin with a 30-second introduction, then 8.5 minutes in a panel interview and one minute for summation.

Physical Fitness: 20%
Judges will be looking for the individual who is physically fit, energetic and healthy, with a strong sense of self-esteem.  We highly recommend competition swimsuits.

Talent or Spokesmodel: 20%
Talent presentation with a maximum time limit of two minutes OR
  Spokesmodel presentation.  Delegates will be judged on their ability to speak to a large group as they deliver a one minute commercial/public service announcement on their state.

Formal Eveningwear: 10%
Delegates will be judged on grace, poise and elegance of carriage during their presentation. Each delegate must wear a floor length gown, which is age appropriate.

Modeling: 10%
Each delegate will model an outfit of her own choosing. It must be age appropriate and it should portray the delegate’s teen spirit. No denim jeans or high glitz attire will be permitted.

Photogenic: 10%
Delegates will be judged on facial beauty and overall cover model look from their choice of submitted 8 X 10 inch color photographs.

Speech/PSA: 10%
Delegates will be judged on their ability to speak to a large group as they deliver a 30-second commercial/public service announcement on their state. You may not use any sign language, sing or act out your public service announcement. Rhyming is also prohibited.
